WGC 2022 Szeded

37th FAI World Gliding Championships 2022 – Szeged, Hungary

The 2022 World Championships in Szeged were held with fast flights in mostly good weather conditions, so that a total of 10 classification days were achieved. The German team Felipe Levin and Michael Sommer, both with the single-seater EB29R, were mostly in the front positions of the day with an average speed of 135 to 164 km/h. With 164 km/h they flew the fastest flight of the competition in the Open Class on the 4th day of the competition. In the overall standings, Felipe Levin reached first place and thus the World Open Class title 2022. Oscar Goudrian flew the competition with the EB29DR with co-pilot. He was able to quickly adapt to the new aircraft and keep up with the speeds which gave him second place in the overall standings.

Our congratulations go to all participating pilots.
